2025-2026 Registration is Now Open!

You should have received your child’s snapcode in the mail over the past couple of weeks. Please use this to register your child for the 2025-2026 school year at your earliest convenience.

Registration Steps:

Click on Enroll Now at the top of the screen

Scroll down and click on Current Student Registration:

Enter Snapcode:

Follow steps to complete registration and submit upon completion.

JJ Beats Performances: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

We are so excited to present two evening performances on Thursday, May 15th of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Performance times are 5:00 pm and 7:30 pm. Come out and enjoy the show!

CES PTO Meeting– Wednesday, May 14th at 6:00 pm at PRES

Everyone is welcome to attend our first PTO meeting of our new CES PTO! Join us as we plan for the upcoming school year!

Field Day Parent Volunteers – Monday, May 19th

We are looking for 30 parent volunteers to work from 9:00-12:15 lead field day stations. Many of these stations will involve physical activity and water fun! Volunteers must have a completed Background Check on file and you must sign up for the entire time slot. Sign Up Genius

Volleyball Intramurals– Practice Canceled on Thursday

Volleyball practices this week will be held Monday-Wednesday and on Friday. We are canceling the Thursday practice due to our evening JJ Beats performances. The Volleyball Jamboree will be held at New Washington on Saturday, May 17th.

Fifth Grade Biztown Field Trips– May 12th and 16th

Make sure students bring a sack lunch and arrive at school on time. The bus will need to leave at 9:00 am sharp to make the most out of the AWESOME field trip!

Fourth Grade Charlestown Walk– Friday, May 16th

Students should wear their tennis shoes, sunscreen, and bring a sack lunch as they spend the day walking around town learning about the rich history of our community! We are hoping that the weather will work out for us this year, but if it doesn’t our rain date is scheduled for Tuesday, May 20th.

CMS Pirate Preview– July 24 from 12:00-3:00

All future CMS 6th graders are encouraged to sign up for Pirate Preview. This event is a great opportunity for your child to familiarize themselves with their class schedules, practice opening lockers, tour the school, meet their teachers, and get to know other 6th graders who will be attending CMS. Charlestown Sharks Summer Swim Team-

The swim team practices and competes from May 19 through July 12, for ages 4 through high school. Swimmers are assigned to groups based on ability and the meets are not mandatory.

After School Activity Pick Up

We are so proud to offer a wide range of extracurricular activities at JJ. With multiple activities letting out at the same time, we ask that all parents or guardians use our car rider process to pick up after these activities. Please make sure to enter our parking lot from Halcyon Rd, wait in line to pick up your child, and exit the parking lot near the Charlestown Library. Do not park and walk over to get your child. This makes dismissal from these activities unsafe.

ILEARN Summative Assessment – 

At JJES we will complete these important state mandated assessments Monday, April 21st through Thursday, May 1st.  If you know of a date that your child will be absent, please let your child’s teacher know so that they can plan for a makeup date for your child.  All students will need earbuds/headphones (not bluetooth) during these assessments.  Students can purchase earbuds in the office for $1.

CES Competition Cheer Open Gym/Tryout – 2025-2026 Season 

Calling all students interested in competition cheer for next school year!  Open gyms begin April 22, 24, 29, May 1, 6, and 8 after school at JJES until 5:00 pm.  A parent meeting will be held on May 1st at 5:00 pm.  Tryouts are scheduled for May 19, 20, and 21. If interested, please complete the Competition Cheer permission slip and turn into the front office.  

***All Pleasant Ridge second graders that are participating will enter our JJES parking lot through Halcyon Road (do not enter next to the Library).  You will follow our car riders and then park in the parking lot and walk your student up to the front office.  

Volleyball Intramurals

This is open to 4th and 5th graders.  Practices will begin after school on May 5th and end at 5:00 pm. (May 5, 6, 7, 8, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16)  There will be a Jamboree Tournament held at New Washington High School on May 17th.  Please return the permission slip if you are interested.

Charlestown Summer Science Camp 2025: Dinosaurs

Get ready for a fun-filled week of science exploration at the Knowledge is Power camp in Charlestown. The theme this year is “The Dinosaurs of Science – Jurassic Camp.”

• K-2 Students Time: 9:00 – 11:00 AM
• 3-5 Students time 12:00 – 2:00
• Current grade level at the time of sign-up.

Throughout the week, campers will dive into a variety of exciting experiments, including:

• Make Your Own Fossil – Discover the secrets of paleontology by creating your very own fossil.
• Fizzing Dinosaur Eggs – Watch as your dinosaur eggs fizz and erupt!
• How to Make Dinosaur Fossils – Explore how real fossils are made by mixing toothpaste and eggs to create your very own fossil replica.

These activities combine science and fun, sparking creativity while teaching you something new!
